Introduction
Hotel Ballast is a waterfront hotel located in Wilmington, North Carolina. It's a perfect location for wedding photography.
Situated along the scenic Cape Fear River, it offers easy access to the city's vibrant downtown and nearby attractions, large suites for couples getting ready in the hotel, and an indoor and outdoor reception for 100+ guests.

Accommodations
Convenient Store - DGX is right across the street. You can buy toiletries, sewing kits, wine, beer, snacks, frozen food.
Cotton Exchange is also across the parking lot. You can have decent brunch at Basics.
Lunch at the German Cafe or Paddy's Hollow
Get your nails done at Wilmington Nail Salon.
Coffee at Java Dog Coffee House.
ATM - ATM in the hotel, they also have a Bank of America across the street.
The Wedding
We had a BLAST photographing Ashley and Ryan's wedding.
They had their getting ready at the Hotel Ballast in Wilmington NC in two different rooms.
One with Ryan, best man, and groomsmen.
Ashley, maid of honor, and bridesmaid a few floors below the suite.
They hired me a second photographer/assistant for the whole day. My assistant drove with the guys, while I drove with the bride to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
I can't get enough of the St. Mary's Basilica. It was a beautiful, all natural light coming beaming from the mosaic windows. There were plenty of seating which had people scattered around the church pews. It was quiet, the whispers cant fill the gigantic room. Only the minister and his microphone reverberate but only hear echos of it.
After the ceremony, we had the family portraits outside of the church, then an old Rolls Royce came in where the newlyweds had their photo session.
They then drove back to the hotel for their cocktail hour, grand entrance, sunset portraits, cake cutting and dancing in the big conference room.

25% Deposit
Grand ballroom -$2000 rental, $25 per person 100 minimum guests
Cape fear ballroom - $1000 rental, $15 per person 75 minimum guests
Do you have bar service?
It depends on the tiers - per hour ranging from $17/hr or $20/hr
Do you offer chairs, tables, and possibly decor?
Yes, there are a few options, they[Ryan and Ashley] rent the chairs, colored napkin, cake table color, etc.
How long do couples book out?
6 months to more than a year
