HOW TO GET A HORRY COUNTY MARRIAGE LICENSE
First, you'll need to visit the Probate Court Office in person. Here's what you need to know:
- Both parties must be present.
- Acceptable IDs: Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Passport.
- You both must be at least 18 years old. (Under 18 requires additional documentation)
- Fees: $50 for Horry County Residents, $75 for SC Residents, $115 for Out-of-State Residents.

USING AN OFFICIANT
You don't have to get married in a courthouse. Once you have your marriage license, you can hire an officiant to elope at your desired location.
Who Can Officiate:
- Ministers of the Gospel
- Jewish Rabbis
- Officers authorized to administer oaths in SC
- Chief or spiritual leader of a Native American Indian entity recognized by the SC Commission for Minority Affairs
After the Ceremony:
- The officiant will return the signed and notarized license to the Probate Court within 15 days.
- The officiant will give the “Bride/Groom/Spouse” copy of the marriage license to the couple after it is signed.
