How to Get a Brown County Marriage License


First, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at the Brown County Clerk’s Office.


Call (920) 448-4016 to Schedule Your Appointment. The office is located at 305 E. Walnut Street, Room 120, Green Bay, WI 54301.


Requirements:


Complete a Marriage Form.

Provide a Valid Photo ID, Driver’s License, or Passport, and Proof of Social Security.

Both You and Your Partner Must Apply in Person at the Brown County Clerk’s Office.

$125 Fee (Cash, Local Check, or Card).


Notes:


• Apply a minimum of one full week prior to your wedding date but no earlier than one month before.

• If you need your license issued earlier than the 5-day waiting period, a $25 waiver fee applies, making the total cost $150.

• A certified birth certificate is required for all applicants. If not in English, a notarized translation must be provided.

• If you’ve been previously married, bring your final Divorce Judgment, Death Certificate, or Court Annulment Decree.

• Proof of residency is required. If you’ve moved in the last 30 days, be prepared to prove your previous address.

• The wedding date must be set before you apply for the license.

• If one of the applicants doesn’t speak English, you must provide a certified translator who isn’t a relative or friend.
