Getting married at Carolina Yacht Club on Wrightsville Beach

Virginia and Conner just got married at Little Chapel on the Board Walk at Wrightsville Beach. They hired the Trolley by Azalea Limo Service to Carolina Yacht Club. I absolutely love this place because it has a ton of space for the reception, dining area, playground for the kids, beach access to get away, theres a ton of space for your guests to walk around, as well as the ample parking space for everyone. At the end of the night, they exited using bubbles and golden pom streamers to their boat exit at the dock. It was a very very good night.

Getting Ready at The Airbnb

We started our day at the Airbnb nearby the Blockade Runner. Thankfully they hired a second photographer to grab photos on the groom side. We walked in with the bride sitting on the chair, getting her hair and make up done. She allowed my second and I to photograph a few candid shots before my Fia(second photographer) to the groomsmen.

While she did that, I started on her details. Nothing lasts, so having photos of them preserves the crisp paper and design, and the brand new wedding bands.

The Trolley was a nice touch. The drive is about 10 minutes long. We ran into some problems at the parking lot(there were too many car and I had to step outside to guide the bus from hitting any cars)

Groom's Getting Ready

Meanwhile, my second drove to the Blockade Runner to get the groom side of the story. There was a football game that Saturday and everyone huddled around. I asked my second to get them ready and grab some candid shots of them.

First look, Bridal, and Family Portraits

The couple wanted to get these out of the way so that after the ceremony, they can let loose and have fun! One thing thats great about the first look is that we can get a few photos of the bride and the groom. We were on time so we also got the bridal photos out of the way. The family portraits followed. All of it was done on the deck of Carolina Yacht Club.

Notes: The light was a bit harsh so we used the shadow casting from the palm trees behind them.

We then used the trolley again to The Little Chapel on the Boardwalk

Ceremony

The trolley dropped the bride and her bridesmaids as well as the groom and his men off from the Carolina Yacht Club. The guests then poured in through the doors while they waited in the library and the upstairs room. I lowered my camera because everyone looked very tired from getting up at 6AM. So we just shared stories and just connected a little bit with them.

Inside the ceremony, the pastor and event coordinator had asked me not use flash or walk around the ceremony because it was too distracting. So I sat down the entire time and when they were ready, I had got up and got photos of them walking down the aisle.

Reception at the Carolina Yacht Club | Grand Entrance, Dancing, Mingling, Cake Cutting and The Boat Exit

They got back on the trolley and drove back to the Carolina Yacht Club. The bride bustled her dress, the groom changed into his marine uniform. Your wedding day will feel like a blur. But hiring us will relive those moments you thought were gone. Ephemeral. Almost.

The newlyweds got in for the Marine style grand entrance into their reception. Bride and groom's first dance. father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, then the guests ate. We went directly to the cake cutting. Walked them to the beach, dance some more, and arranged for the grand entrance.

The couple discovered a long line of people cheering for them. Waving their golden streamer and pom-poms. That lead to their boat exit.

It was a 10 hour wedding that my second and I photographed. It felt like a blur but having these photos, help my clients relive them.

Wedding Vendors Credits

10 hours was a lot but we pulled of some of my favorite photos we've ever taken. And I couldn't have done it without the help of these wedding vendors.
