Carolina Yacht Club Wedding in Wrightsville Beach
Carolina Yacht Club is one of the larger reception venues in Wrightsville Beach. The property has space for dinner, dancing, and outdoor areas where guests can walk around or step onto the beach.
Virginia and Conner had their ceremony at Little Chapel on the Boardwalk and returned to Carolina Yacht Club for the reception. Guests exited the night with bubbles and gold streamers as the couple left by boat from the dock.
Getting Ready at The Airbnb
The day started at a Wrightsville Beach Airbnb near the Blockade Runner where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. My second photographer headed to the groom at the Blockade Runner while I started photographing the details and getting ready moments.
While she did that, I started on her details. Nothing lasts, so having photos of them preserves the crisp paper and design, and the brand new wedding bands.
We also photographed the bridal portraits at Carolina Yacht Club before the ceremony. The couple rented a trolley to transport the bridal party from the Airbnb to the club and later to Little Chapel on the Boardwalk.
Carolina Yacht Club is one of the most popular reception venues in Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. Many couples choose to have their ceremony at Little Chapel on the Boardwalk and host their reception at the club.
Groom's Getting Ready
Meanwhile, my second drove to the Blockade Runner to get the groom side of the story. There was a football game that Saturday and everyone huddled around. I asked my second to get them ready and grab some candid shots of them.
Meanwhile my second photographer covered the groom getting ready at the Blockade Runner. The guys were watching a football game while getting dressed which made for a few relaxed candid photos before the ceremony.
First look and Portraits
The couple wanted to get these out of the way so that after the ceremony, they can let loose and have fun! One thing thats great about the first look is that we can get a few photos of the bride and the groom. The couple chose to do a first look so they could enjoy cocktail hour with their guests after the ceremony. The family portraits followed. All of it was done on the deck of Carolina Yacht Club.
Notes: The light was a bit harsh so we used the shadow casting from the palm trees behind them.
We then used the trolley again to The Little Chapel on the Boardwalk
Ceremony
The trolley dropped the bride and her bridesmaids as well as the groom and his men off from the Carolina Yacht Club. The guests then poured in through the doors while they waited in the library and the upstairs room. Everyone had been up since 6AM, so the room felt quiet and calm before the ceremony began.
Inside Little Chapel on Wrightsville Beach, the pastor and event coordinator had asked me not use flash or walk around the ceremony because it was too distracting. I stayed seated during the ceremony and photographed the processional and key moments from the aisle when allowed.
Getting married at Carolina Yacht Club on Wrightsville Beach
Virginia and Conner just got married at Little Chapel on the Board Walk at Wrightsville Beach. They hired the Trolley by Azalea Limo Service to Carolina Yacht Club. I absolutely love this place because it has a ton of space for the reception, dining area, playground for the kids, beach access to get away, theres a ton of space for your guests to walk around, as well as the ample parking space for everyone. At the end of the night, they exited using bubbles and golden pom streamers to their boat exit at the dock. It was a very very good night.
