the minimalist project

Engagement photography for couples who find beauty in Simplicity

This photography session that focuses on minimalism elements like clean backgrounds, simple shapes, texture and lines that create harmony and balance to the image.

These types of composition is perfect for minimalistic design, offers space to add text, especially for save the dates, framing fine art prints, or book covers.

The sky is perfect for clean backgrounds, however, textures like concrete, a wall of ivy, a white painted background(high key), or black shadow background(low key) can be an element.

Itinerary

Any beach access, a rooftop, an open field, a plain background.

Best time to photograph.

Anytime.

How long is it?

about 30-60 minutes.

How many photos will I get?

10-15 high quality images + whatever how many candid photos I get.

You can add another itinerary in our session.

for example, if you want St. James Episcopal Church + Wrightsville Beach, we'll just need to adjust our time to make sure that we're getting optimal lighting conditions. Just let me know ahead of time.

See how I get minimal compositions below.

Use of 1, 3, or 5 elements

The grass, tree, and the couple in the foreground.

Use of the sky

By shooting low, you can isolate your couples and make them feel like they're isolated.

Shooting far.

By shooting shooting far you can create an open space while the sky dominates the frame. It forces a landscape ratio longer than 6:9.
