Hey y’all! Curious about getting photos at St. James Episcopal Church?
Thing is, I’ve probably photographed this place almost every week in 2024. My couples love this place(and so do I!)
You can find the green courtyard thats beautifully maintained.
They have a tree as old as time, goth inspired architecture, and a smaller one inside it.
I highly recommend getting your photos here!

Great things about the Church
There are plenty of backdrops and photo opportunities at St. James Episcopal Church
Here are a list of them.
- Street Parking on Dock Street. Not sure if you know this, there aren’t a lot of free parking in Wilmington. (Thanks Pivot!)
- The grass is nicely trimmed. You can sit, lie down, and walk on the grass. Downtown Wilmington does not have a lot of parks downtown. So this is a privillage.
- There’s symmetry everywhere. Doors, arches, architecture.
- The lighting, from a photographer’s perspective, is phenomenal.

Not so great things about St. James Episcopal Church
Honestly, I don’t have any cons for this church other than the parking might be tricky. And when 3rd street, gets busy, you’ll get honking(if you’re a couple or getting married in St. James Episcopal Church)
