What's an Engagement Session?

Your engagement session is a unique opportunity to express the love and story between you and your soon-to-be partner. It’s a time to celebrate this exciting milestone by creating memories that will live on forever. Enjoy the freedom to capture moments outside, in unexpected places like an old garage or nearby field of wildflowers. Surprise yourselves with an incredible experience that reflects who you are right now, the beauty of your friendship, and the adventures yet to come. An engagement session allows you to create something special before your big day arrives.

What's the purpose of an engagement session?

An engagement session is a great way to get to know your photographer before the big day. It serves as a practice session and can help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera on your special day. A successful engagement session also helps you trust that your photographer will capture all the best moments of your wedding, allowing you to relax and enjoy every second.

When should you have an Engagement Session?

Usually a few weeks after booking a wedding. But if you're booking it standalone, as soon as it's possible. The best plan is to find a photographer who understands your needs and your vision. The best time to hire an engagement photographer is usually before or after the New Years, Christmas, and Valentines Day. Photographers get very booked up during these times, so its best to book one now!

How long does an Engagement Session last?

A typical Engagement Session lasts between 30 minutes - 2 hours depending on the needs of my clients. My Engagement Sessions starts at 60 minutes at $400. Then $500 for 90 minutes.

What if I don't know how to pose?

The wonderful thing about an engagement session is that it gives you a chance to experiment with different poses without feeling rushed or under pressure - because let’s face it, the wedding day can be hectic! An engagement session gives you enough time for creative posing and taking those once-in-a-lifetime shots that make for beautiful memories. It also provides an opportunity for both partners to express themselves through their poses and show their personalities in front of the camera.

What should I wear to an engagement session?

Find Inspiration Online

When looking for outfit inspiration, there is no better place than online – from Instagram fashion influencers to Pinterest boards filled with ideas. Start by searching for your occasion – whether that’s “work outfits” or “date night looks.” Then narrow down your results by looking at websites like WhoWhatWear and Refinery29, which provide helpful advice on styling trends and wardrobe essentials. Or get inspired by celebrities on sites like PopSugar and Just Jared

Look Through Your Closet

Once you have some ideas in mind, it’s time to take inventory of what you already have in your closet. Organizing your clothes into categories (dresses, skirts, blouses) can help make this process easier – plus it will give you an idea of what items you may need if your wardrobe feels incomplete. Also try creating different combinations with items from each category; mix-and-matching can often result in unexpected yet stylish outfits!

Accessorize with Confidence

The right accessories can make all the difference with any ensemble. For example, if you’re wearing an all-black look to work but want it to feel dressier for a night out, try adding a bold statement necklace or brightly colored clutch bag. If you love feeling extra glam for special occasions (like weddings!), donning an elegant hat or pair of earrings is always appropriate – especially when paired with a sleek dress and heels!
